Hi, I'm so glad you're here.

My love for photography started while traveling through Europe. While I was in Sweden, a friend handed me his camera and let me play around with it—and I was hooked. I have an engineering degree from N.C. State, so naturally I loved figuring out how aperture, shutter speed, ISO, lenses, and light all worked together. It felt a little like an engineering problem, except the end result was a lot more fun to look at.

But what really made photography stick was the people. I love meeting people, building relationships, and capturing the moments that make them who they are. For the past 15 years, I've photographed weddings, families, and events all over North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee. I'm much more interested in real laughs, quick glances, and the unexpected moments than making everyone stand perfectly still and say "cheese."

When I'm not behind the camera, I'm a husband to a beautiful wife who has been my very patient photography test subject over the years, and a dad to four kids. Having four kids has made me pretty good at capturing moments that happen quickly—because in our house, almost everything happens quickly. Photography started with learning how to control a camera, but over the years I've learned that the best photos usually come from knowing when to stop controlling things and simply capture the moment. Today, Treece Photography is built on one simple belief: that great photos come from genuine connection.
